The Role
This is a senior leadership position responsible for Product Development, Engineering, Innovation, and Regulatory Compliance across the Superior Wellness product portfolio. Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead our Product Development and R&D function, working closely with global manufacturing partners across China and Europe while influencing product strategy across multiple international brands. The role combines strategic product leadership with technical expertise, commercial awareness, and operational delivery. You will be responsible for shaping future products, improving existing ranges, and bringing innovative wellness solutions to market. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the company's product development strategy and multi-year product roadmap.
- Lead innovation, new product development, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Own and continually improve the company's stage-gate NPD process.
- Lead supplier and factory development activities across China, Portugal, and other international manufacturing locations.
- Oversee tooling development, prototype approval, sample sign-off, BOM accuracy, and production readiness.
- Manage product compliance and regulatory requirements across UK, European, North American, and international markets.
- Use dealer feedback, customer insight, warranty data, market trends, and competitor analysis to drive future product development.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, and Aftersales teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Drive product cost optimisation, margin improvement, and value engineering initiatives.
- Own the Product Development and R&D budget, including tooling investment, testing expenditure, and business case development.
- Build and develop a high-performing product and innovation team.
- Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and opportunities that support the long-term growth strategy of the business.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Significant experience in product development, engineering, innovation, or product leadership roles.
- Experience within consumer products, wellness products, leisure products, electrical products, household products, pools, spas, or other manufacturing-led industries.
- Proven track record of delivering products from concept through to commercial launch.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, product industrialisation, and supplier management.
- Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance innovation, quality, cost, and operational delivery.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and scaling business environment.
