About Superior Wellness

We’re the UK’s leading distribution business in our sector, operating at scale with our own bespoke business management software that supports the day-to-day running of the business. Our systems cover everything from warehouse and inventory management, through sales, order processing, and finance operations. Like most real-world platforms, the software has evolved over time and now represents a mix of legacy Laravel code and more modern development approaches. We love automation and AI and are building a range of unique products and services to support the business's growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working on our bespoke business management software alongside the CTO, Lead Software Engineer, and wider development team
  • Maintaining, extending, and improving an established Laravel codebase
  • Refactoring and modernising areas of the system where it delivers clear business value
  • Building new features to support warehouse, operational, and finance processes
  • Collaborating closely with non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements
  • Contributing to code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid fundamentals in software development
  • Experience in working with existing codebases
  • A pragmatic, patient, and positive approach to problem-solving
  • Willingness to learn the system deeply and take ownership of your work
  • Comfortable asking questions and working collaboratively

We’re more interested in attitude, curiosity, and foundations than ticking every box.

Technologies:

  • PHP / Laravel
  • MySQL
  • Docker
  • GitHub
  • Traditional and cloud-based hosting (Azure preferred)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with internal tools or bespoke business systems
  • Exposure to refactoring or managing technical debt
  • Understanding of how software supports operational teams
  • Familiarity with APIs (finance systems, email platforms, CRMs)
  • Interest in automation or AI-assisted tools

We’re open to junior, graduate, or mid-level Software Engineers. The right person and mindset matter more than years of experience. Salary will be competitive and aligned with UK market rates, depending on experience and capability.

Why Join Us

  • Work on software that directly supports a real, operating business
  • Learn from experienced engineers in a supportive team
  • Gain exposure to large, long-lived systems – not just greenfield projects
  • Clear progression through a structured engineering framework
  • Opportunity to grow into more senior or specialised roles over time
  • Real career growth through development and training
