Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of roll-formed metal profiles, offering extensive production capacity and technical expertise. Supported by a highly skilled and experienced team, they deliver innovative, cost-effective products and solutions to customers across a wide range of industries. Their reputation is built on quality, reliability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

They are now looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacturing of cold rolled formed sections and sheet metal components and their assembly from specific production line(s) and cells within the business unit. Your responsibilities will include people management, health and safety, quality and associated documentation within the manufacturing process.

Overall Purpose of the Manufacturing Manager role:

  • To lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer expectations and standards.
  • Full accountability for health and safety, quality and performance within the manufacturing process.
  • To develop an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team.
  • Drive continuous improvement philosophy and best practices with effective leadership.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage an efficient workforce across 3 shift work pattern.
  • Planning and organising production schedules.
  • Striving to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all production processes.
  • Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control.
  • Liaise closely with planning and sales departments.
  • Ensure plant and equipment is maintained to the desired standards.
  • Manage health and safety process.
  • Coach staff in how to improve their productivity and quality performance.
  • Attend monthly management and HSE meetings and report on relevant KPI’s.
  • Ensure Quality procedures are followed, and documentation completed as required.
  • Ensure all consumable products within the process are stocked and readily available.

About You:

  • Excellent Leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of cross functional team members.
  • Excellent organisational and follow up skills.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company management systems; Quality (ISO9001) and Environmental (ISO14001).
  • Knowledge and practical experience of lean fundamentals within the manufacturing industry.
  • Competent in problem solving and decision making.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • A strong desire to improve manufacturing and associated processes.
  • Excellent communications skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in plant management or operations experience working in a multi-line factory.
  • Qualification in managing health and safety.
  • Experience in following and applying quality standards within the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience within the Cold Roll forming manufacturing industry.
  • Proven supervisory experience within an engineering manufacturing type environment.
  • Strong IT skills.

Working Hours:

  • 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday
  • 8am – 4pm Friday

Benefits Package:

  • Annual bonus (dependent on business performance).
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays.
