Are you a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse looking to make a meaningful difference in a young adult’s life? We are seeking an empathetic and dedicated Registered Nurse in Dover or the surrounding area to provide personal, one-to-one care for a young adult with complex healthcare needs in her own home. Although the role is based in the community, it is very much a hands-on bedside nursing position, where you will work closely with both the client and her family to deliver consistent, high-quality care. If you have a passion for person-centred nursing and supporting individuals with complex medical needs, this is a deeply fulfilling opportunity.

The Role

We support a young adult in the Dover area who has complex care needs and enjoys taking an active role in daily activities — especially cooking. As part of your 1:1 work with her, you will provide clinical support while also assisting her with her culinary interests, helping her enjoy meaningful, confidence-building experiences at home. She communicates using eye-gaze technology. Experience with this is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided to ensure you feel confident supporting her communication. You will become a familiar, trusted presence in her home, building a strong working relationship with both her and her family while delivering high-quality bedside care tailored to her needs. Comprehensive in-house training and a full induction programme, led by our Nurse Manager, will ensure you are fully equipped before working independently. You will also be inducted into the full care package so that you understand her routines, preferences, and clinical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting BiPAP ventilation and monitoring equipment
  • Assisting with PEG feeding and nutritional support
  • Providing safe moving and handling assistance
  • Managing care related to Cerebral Palsy and dystonia
  • Supporting the client with her interest in cooking activities
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in health or behaviour
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment

Regular Working Pattern

Once you have completed your induction, you will follow a consistent and predictable working pattern, unlike ad-hoc agency roles. You will work agreed regular day or night shifts, chosen from:

  • Monday – Sunday: 08:00 – 20:00 (Day shifts)
  • Monday – Sunday: 20:00 – 08:00 (Night shifts)

Your set rota will be confirmed once you are inducted into the package, giving you clear visibility of your schedule throughout the year and ensuring continuity for you and the client.

Essential Requirements

  • NMC registration
  • Knowledge of infection control
  • Experience with enteral feeding, Cerebral Palsy, ventilation, or complex care

Apply now and become a valued part of a family-centred care package, delivering exceptional 1:1 bedside nursing support to a young adult in her home. Superior Healthcare is an Equal Opportunities Employer, and registration is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and references. Payment via a limited company is not offered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-2-1 support to a adult with Complex Care needs.
  • Work closely with the Nurse Manager Team to provide quality care to our clients.
  • Build rapport with clients and families, working within the family home to achieve individual goals.
  • Potential for growth and development into a supervisor or management role.

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Commitment to 2 regular shifts per week.
  • Ability to fit seamlessly into the home setting.
  • UK driving license and access to own vehicle.
  • Compassion, confidence, and a gentle caring nature.
  • Experience in delivering care to complex clients, preferably in the community.
  • Clean and valid Registered Nurse pin with at least 1 year post-registration experience.

  • Choice of day, night and weekend shifts
  • Blue light card - we’ll pay for it.
