We are recruiting for an experienced Complex Carer (working with individuals in the community with spinal or brain injuries, tracheostomies, ventilators) who either has experience of supervising other carers or is looking for progression to a Field Care Supervisor. About the role
Based across Essex / Herts border (including areas such as Watford and Luton), working with the Complex Care team, the field care supervisor will conduct direct observations, competency checks, appraisals and ensure staff receive regular supervisions. You will also be expected to carry out ongoing care needs and risk assessments and update these as required in conjunction with the Nurse Manager assigned to your team. In addition to working hands on with the clients, you will be responsible for staff meet and greets, new starter inductions, identifying potential gaps in rotas, ensuring team members uphold high standards of care, attending team meetings and recognising any areas of poor practice that need to be addressed.
Requirements
- A supervisory/Coaching qualification or to be willing to work towards an NVQ 3 Supervisory qualification.
- Knowledge of tracheostomy, ventilation care, cough assist and enteral feeding.
- Experience of working with adults or children with complex care needs.
- Community experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan effectively with good time management.
- You will have the right to work in the UK and hold a clean UK driving licence.
What's on offer for the Field Care Supervisor role?
- Salary of £33,000 and a company car on completion of your probation.
- 37.5 hours per week, which will be a mix of clinical shifts (various shift length and will include one full weekend during a 6-week period) and the remainder of the hours working as a supervisor predominantly Mon to Fri however flexibility is required.
