The Role
As Chief Product Officer , you’ll sit on the leadership team and be responsible for both strategic product direction and day-to-day product execution. This includes helping to define our product roadmap, writing specs, creating wireframes, managing the backlog, and working closely with developers to ship features quickly and effectively.
You’ll fully own the product management function and play a key role in scaling both the platform and team. This is a rare opportunity for someone with entrepreneurial or co-founder ambitions to lead product at a formative stage of the company’s journey.
Key Responsibilities
Product
- Define and evolve the product vision and roadmap, balancing customer needs with commercial goals
- Write detailed specifications and user stories for engineers
- Create wireframes and work closely with design and development to build features — strong design capabilities are a major bonus .
- Prioritise work, manage the backlog, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
- Use analytics, feedback, and research to inform decisions and iterate on product
- Drive product-led growth by launching impactful features and improving engagement
Technology
- Oversee architecture decisions, delivery processes, and key integrations (e.g. Open Banking, benefits APIs)
- Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and cost-efficient
- Maintain best practices in documentation, testing, and deployment
Data & Insights
- Lead customer research, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing
- Oversee management of our data platform and admin panel
- Leverage Open Banking and internal data to power personalisation, nudges, and predictive support
- Ensure compliance with key standards (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001, Consumer Duty)
Team & Culture
- Lead and develop a high-performing team across product and engineering
- Foster a culture of experimentation, accountability, and impact
- Represent product and technology in key leadership and external discussions
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have experience as a Head of Product, CPO, or equivalent in a FinTech
- Bring deep hands-on product management expertise — from writing specs and wireframes to managing dev sprints
- Have strong knowledge of the UK personal finance ecosystem — e.g. credit, budgeting, switching, Open Banking, and subscriptions
- Can balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Are mission-driven, humble, and excited by early-stage challenges
- Have a track record of building both 0→1 and 1→n products
- Have entrepreneurial ambitions and want to help drive a high-impact company from the ground up
