Warehouse Operative - AssemblyStead House Distribution CentreHours of work: Monday to Friday, 6am - 2pm.Total Hours Per Week: 40IntroductionAn exciting opportunity to be part of our successful Superdrug Supply Chain; working within one of our busy Distribution centres as a Warehouse Operative. This vacancy is for the Savers DC know as Stead House Distribution Centre; based in Darlington. Role Purpose: The Warehouse operative plays a key role in ensuring that the customers (stores) orders are picked and packed in a neat, accurate and safe manner to meet daily deadlines. This individual will operate Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) within our safety guidelines to deliver specified KPI standards. This role will report to the Operations Team Leader for Stead House Distribution Centre. A typical day in this role includes: Picking products in line with order requirements Ensuring all agreed daily/weekly work performances are achieved to the required standard as a minimum Always maintaining excellent packing and accuracy disciplines Ensuring that all picked stock is clean and undamaged; reporting any issues to your Line Manager Working collaboratively with the team to actively reduce shrinkage Keeping the work area clean and tidy by adopting a “Clean-As-You-Go” discipline. (This may include, but not limited to: cleaning up spills, wiping down surfaces, removing waste bins and generally keeping the work area, tools and equipment clean, safe, and free from hazard) Assisting the Operational Team in all aspects of Health and Safety and reporting all accidents/incidents/ near misses immediately to your Line Manager. This job is a good fit for you if: You enjoy working at a fast pace in an everchanging environment You are motivated by delivering results and can easily work to deadlines You are good at building strong working relationships You are self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision You are honest, reliable and dedicated to your role You have a strong work ethic with a meticulous attention to detail You have a good attitude and aptitude with a willingness to learn new skills What you’ll need: Previous picking experience within a warehouse environment (not essential) Experience of bar code readers (HHT)/Voice picking would be an advantage Flexible approach to performing other duties within the warehouse as requested by your Line Manager High level of numeracy Excellent time and attendance record Good teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work on your own Always demonstrate and maintain a high level of health and safety awareness around the warehouse, ensuring own safety and the safety of others.
