A day includes:
- Leading the development, implementation, and expansion of in‑house health clinic services, ensuring all services are clinically robust, safe, evidence‑based and fully aligned with regulatory and professional standards.
- Acting as the Responsible Supervising Clinician for Yellow Fever services, ensuring full compliance with national standards, maintaining accreditation requirements and providing clinical oversight to safeguard high‑quality patient care.
- Working collaboratively with healthcare services, operations and trading teams to design, implement and continuously optimise new and existing clinical service offerings.
- Providing advanced clinical expertise and input into service expansion decisions.
- Playing a key role in shaping and influencing the strategic direction of Superdrug’s clinic services portfolio.
- Supporting the embedding of robust clinical governance frameworks within clinic services.
- Evaluating service performance, patient outcomes and clinical quality to drive continuous improvement and innovation across the clinic portfolio.
- Acting as a clinical leader and subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders on matters relating to medicines and clinic‑based care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the creation, development and continuous improvement of clinic‑based healthcare services.
- Strategically develop in‑house clinic services in collaboration with the healthcare services team.
- Review, authorise, write and sign off Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and Patient Specific Directions (PSDs).
- Act as the subject matter expert and provide complex clinical advice and decision‑making support across clinic services.
- Develop, review and approve clinic policies, procedures and guidance documentation.
- Support regulatory compliance across all health clinic services.
- Represent the organisation at external stakeholder groups, professional forums and conferences.
- Contribute to and support clinical governance frameworks and assurance processes.
- Manage the health clinics development cost centre, ensuring effective budget oversight and resource utilisation.

- Ensure the design, development and delivery of clinic services consistently operate in line with all relevant regulatory, legal and professional requirements.
- Embed and support robust clinical governance processes to maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical effectiveness and quality of care.
- Provide clinical leadership in the review and investigation of incidents, complaints and near misses.
- Ensure all PGDs, policies and clinical procedures are safe, evidence‑based, up‑to‑date and subject to regular review.
- Support the development and maintenance of risk management frameworks.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, service performance and patient feedback.
- Provide expert clinical advice to support teams in managing complex patient safety issues and governance queries.
- Champion a culture of safety, openness and continuous learning.

What you'll need to succeed
- GPhC‑registered pharmacist (essential).
- Independent Prescriber qualification (essential).
- Strong and demonstrable experience in medicines governance, prescribing and clinical service delivery.
- Proven track record in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of healthcare services.
- Experience in reviewing, authorising and maintaining PGDs and associated prescribing frameworks.
- Ability to provide complex clinical advice and autonomous decision‑making.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, legal and professional frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Sound financial awareness, with experience managing or contributing to budgets.
- Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development.
