Here's the exiting bit a day includes:
Working with department Contract Owners,Procurement Partners and Directors alongside finance partners, the legal team andthe Own brand Procurement Team to advise on all procurement matters.
Linemanagement of a Procurement Buyer with oversight of all non-trade tender plansand contract signing, to track project progress and deliverables with reportingresponsibilities to Senior management and the business.
Preparingand tracking investment business cases and tender recommendations for relevantapprovals from the Business Unit Investment Committee and Group InvestmentCommittee for high spend projects.
Keyobjectives include achieving cost saving targets, contract compliance andcontinuous improvement activities to achieve the goal of a best-in-classprocurement function, including comms, training plans and overall management ofthe UK Investment Committee (IC) commercial section.
Keydeliverables; identifying and completing tenders according to company policiesand established best practice within timescales that ensure contracts are inplace and key services not disrupted.
Carryout supplier sourcing and spend analysis activities to identify opportunitiesto positively impact on commercial contracts, profitability and businessefficiencies.
Supportdifferent departments across the business in setting up and running tenders andquotation processes and category/supplier management
Runselected tenders from initial requirement, market analysis, tender/contractmanagement, implementation, post analysis/lessons learnt while working withsubject matter experts from different departments
Recordand share information to ensure an accurate UK contract database and feed intothe visibility of upcoming contract expiry dates, break options and potentialsavings opportunities
Supportthe relationship with Group Procurement Services (GPS) and collaborate oninter-UK Businesses and international tenders that cover the UK
Qualifications you need for the role :
• You need to have solid procurement experience, particularly in partnering categoriesto support contract owners and assess category requirements as well asexperience in leading a formal tender process from start to the completedcontract
• A degree in business or CIPs qualification would be valuable
Demonstrable line management experience
Retail experience desirable but not essential
