We are looking for a driven and dynamic Operational Team Leader to join our Distribution Centre in Dunstable. In this key logistics role, you will support the Shift Manager by leading a team within a designated area of the warehouse. Department: Supply Chain / Logistics
AM Shifts: 6am-2pm
We are looking for a driven and dynamic Operational Team Leader to join our Distribution Centre in Dunstable. In this key logistics role, you will support the Shift Manager by leading a team within a designated area of the warehouse. You’ll focus on achieving KPIs, optimizing workflows, and promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and motivate team members to perform effectively and meet operational targets.
Take ownership of people management matters, including absence, performance, and conduct, in collaboration with HR and the Shift Manager.
Ensure KPI performance within your area is tracked, communicated, and continuously improved.
Review and enhance operational processes to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
Work with the Health & Safety team to maintain accurate risk assessments and safe working practices.
Deliver effective shift handovers and maintain communication with incoming/outgoing leaders.
Provide daily updates to the Shift Manager and flag any operational challenges.
Conduct team briefings, support in investigations, and manage disciplinary processes as required.
Deputize as Shift Manager when needed and assist with reports or projects as directed.

Proven leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution centre.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong planning, organization, and decision-making capabilities.
Good understanding of warehouse systems, cost control, and operational efficiency.
