Here’s the exciting bit… A day includes:

  • As a Senior Buyer you will lead a team of buyers/junior buyers and BA to deliver the commercial business strategy for Fragrance.
  • This role will play a critical part curating our Promotion strategy across our Star Buys and Event Long Promotions, range curation including our self-select space, Premium Fragrance range roll out & strategy, NPD strategy and promotional planning, working closely with Marketing, Merchandising and Supply Chain to deliver a compelling, competitive and profitable fragrance proposition.
  • This role reports into the Head of Trading – Fragrance.
  • Generate detailed customer focused initiatives, in line with the commercial Department strategy and support with execution.
  • Listen to the customer and implement new ideas and ways of working which are designed to improve service considering both Online and Offline.
  • Ensure the team prioritises actions which delight the customer/team member.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with a variety of Stakeholders: Commercial, Suppliers, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain and AS Watson occasionally.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver category plans including range reviews, promotions pricing and stock that are consistent with overall commercial strategy and financial objectives.
  • Partnering with Marketing to shape impactful campaigns, overlays and CRM activity that drive demand and brand visibility.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, taking appropriate action where necessary, and sharing best practice with peers and other stakeholders.
  • Building strong, strategic relationships with key fragrance suppliers, negotiating commercial terms, fixed investment, exclusivity and bespoke campaigns.
  • Able to write, present and deliver strategic objectives above and beyond the day to day promotions, pricing and star buys.
  • Working closely with Merchandising to ensure the right range is in the right stores, with strong availability and controlled stock risk.
  • Working in conjunction with Supply Chain team, ensure base sales and promotional forecasts are adhered to, whilst maintaining in-store availability to meet the customers needs.
  • Continuously evolving the fragrance proposition to stay ahead of trends, innovation and customer expectations.
  • Manage and coach team members to achieve both Category and personal development objectives.
  • Take responsibility for own personal and professional development.

  • You need to be confident in making commercial decisions that impact our stores.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results through people.
  • Ability to present clearly and commercially to senior audiences.
  • Proactively keep up to date with market and consumer trends in their specialism and feeds this into department strategy.
  • Uses data and insights to challenge the status quo to keep us ahead of the competition.
  • Uses data to inform and generate new ideas and make decisions to improve on future plans.
