Overview
As an Operations Team Leader at the Superdrug Distribution Centre in Dunstable, you will lead stock control activities during night shifts, guiding a small team to meet KPI targets and ensure safe, efficient operations. You’ll work closely with Shift Managers to drive improvements, coordinate processes, and uphold high standards across stock handling and safety. This role sits at the heart of supplying over 200 stores, contributing to fast, accurate availability of products. You’ll be an ambassador for company values and a key enabler of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of people management for the area, collaborating with the shift manager and people team
- Coach, motivate and develop the team to perform efficiently with available training tools
- Own nominated KPIs for your area and report progress to the shift Manager
- Review and develop processes to maximise efficiencies and communicate changes to the Management team
- Collaborate with Health & Safety to create and update safe systems of work and risk assessments
- Ensure effective and seamless shift handovers to oncoming team
- Provide timely updates to the Shift Manager on daily progress and issues
- Model site culture in line with company values and promote health & safety practices
- Support ad hoc projects and reports; deputise as Shift Manager when required
- Conduct team briefings as needed
Key requirements
- Stock control experience is essential
- Excellent planning and project management skills
- Strong analytical and IT skills
- Proven management experience in a distribution environment or similar
- Effective communication and engagement with team and colleagues
- Strong people management skills
- Good understanding of cost reports, operational efficiencies and cost management
