Overview
The DC Communications Executive is responsible for supporting key internal stakeholders to deliver all distribution and transport messaging. Starting at a strategic level, they will support internal departments to drive engagement across our Distribution Centres. A key part of this role is to oversee communications across all internal channels, including an internal communications platform and the organisation and execution of in‑house events designed to increase team engagement. They will manage a communications calendar across two distribution locations that aligns with the Superdrug internal communications strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a rolling calendar of activity across internal channels, aligning with the employer brand and wider business strategy.
- Own all distribution and transport specific communications plans and manage communications mapping across the distribution centres, including operational health and safety messaging.
- Cascade information within the distribution and transport teams by working with key stakeholders such as the Supply Chain Director, Heads of Departments, operational managers and onsite people teams.
- Build relationships across departments to stay aligned with communication priorities and act as a subject‑matter expert for audience‑specific messaging.
- Support the people team with the DEI calendar execution at distribution centres.
- Partner with the corporate charity partner to engage team members in fundraising and understand impact.
- Report on and analyse internal communications to share updates with key stakeholders and measure the impact of activities.
- Manage the internal communications platform for all relevant departments, including administration and reporting.
- Collaborate with the wider internal communications team to create digital content for relevant channels and manage internal media screens across distribution centres.
- Act as a brand guardian for all communications, ensuring consistent tone of voice.
What You’ll Need
- Core knowledge of internal communications principles and their business impact.
- Experience delivering a strategy and measuring its success.
- Proficiency with digital platforms such as Canva, SharePoint, and social‑media‑style systems.
- Ability to film and edit video, sound clips and social media assets, from basic to intermediate level.
- Flexibility to adapt plans based on business needs.
- Understanding of multiple brand tones and the ability to work across brands.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and projects.
