Role Purpose:
With a passion for the Superdrug and Savers brands, the GM for Distribution will implement the Supply Chain business strategy and objectives. This role reports to the Supply Chain Director ASW UK . You will be leading a diverse team of Distribution Centre Managers across a in-house operated multi-site network in order to ensure we deliver the right product to the right stores at the right time for our customers. You will play a key role in the coaching and development of our Senior DC Leadership Teams, embodying our culture and creating that Superdrug Feeling for all Team Members working in a Distribution Centre.
A typical day in this role includes:

· Interacting with a variety of stakeholders: (Exec, Op Exec, Supply Chain, Health and Safety, Property, Trading, Store Operations, People Team)
· Stakeholders outside of the BU: (Labour Agency providers, Suppliers 3PLs etc)
· Building strong relationships within the business to work collaboratively between Supply Chain and Retail Operations, ensuring data driven feedback is provided accurately and constructively.
· Implementing a safety first culture.
· Analyzing available data to identify performance gaps, KPI risks and finding new opportunities to improve efficiencies and productivity within the distribution network.
· Providing coaching and feedback to the Senior DC Leadership Teams to assist them in delivering their objectives, SLA’s and business KPI’s.
· Taking overall accountability for hitting KPIs; H&S, Productivity, Costs and Employee Engagement.
· Using a strong commercial and financial mindset to influence decision making within the logistics operations, keeping the customers at the heart of what we do.
· Working in collaboration with the People Team to highlight opportunities for development and progression, growing talent internally to support future business needs.
· Championing our values by creating a culture where our team members love to work and can be themselves.
· Sharing best practice with the AS. Watson group to support growth of other BU’s.
· Building and implementing a future-fit logistics business strategy in collaboration with the wider Supply Chain. Including robust and practical strategies that are clearly communicated to key stakeholders within the business, and is continuously evaluated to make necessary adjustments when new opportunities arise.

What you’ll need:
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Ability to lead with confidence and be the subject matter expert on logistics and distribution matters
· Experience of leading a team at a senior level
· A strong commercial and financial mindset that shapes an understanding of how a successful distribution network operates.
