As our SEO & GEO Copywriter you will be responsible for transforming the Superdrug.com eCommerce experience by levelling up our site copy. This spans our FAQ, Product, Category, Landing pages as well as reinvigorating the Superdrug Blog as a space to educate our customers on trends, our range and great beauty tips and advice.
Here’s The Exciting Bit… A Day Includes:
- Leading the SEO strategy for our online business, creating plans with technical teams, .com trading team, buying teams, own brand teams and suppliers.
- Ensuring we have guidelines and roadmaps for improvements reporting to senior management on progress and highlighting any blockers.
- Own keyword research, metadata, internal linking frameworks, and measurement.
- Track Boots, Amazon, LookFantastic, Sephora, etc.; identify gaps and new keyword/category opportunities.
- Monitor algorithm updates and SERP changes; recommend mitigations.
- Align SEO data with onsite search; influence taxonomy to reflect how customers search.
- Own dashboards, weekly KPIs, monthly performance readouts; communicate actions to Trading, Marketing, UX, SLT.
- Act as internal expert; train teams on SEO best practice; represent SEO in planning and design reviews.
- Creates a culture where the customer is always considered first.
- Monitor data to deliver new and innovative ways of working to improve service.
- Builds and delivers a strategy that listens and exceeds our customers' expectations.
- Empowers their team to make decisions that delight the customer.
- Continuously adapts the strategy to meet ever changing customer demands.
- Report on our performance on traditional Search Engines and AI recommendation tools to the business and make actionable plans to optimise.
- Plan, develop and implement a content calendar for Superdrug’s blog by working with the Insights and Digital Marketing team to identify emerging trends and create.
- Keep up to date with external developments and opportunities across SEM A.
- Share knowledge internally to support development of Digital Marketing strategy, and stay one step ahead of competition.
- Uses commercial awareness to identify opportunities and threats in the market place, through research and analysis.
- Considering the impact of Online and Offline.
- Lead and transform the Marketing team to have the customers-first mindset for our O+O platform to build customer loyalty.
- Be the voice of customers and orchestrate the organisation to live the brand purpose and inspire a customer-first culture to build customer love in every touchpoint of our O+O platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- 5+ years SEO in retail/ecommerce; strong technical SEO and content optimisation.
- Proven delivery with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Product, UX).
- Ideally experience working a fast paced retail head office.
- Tooling: GSC, GA/Looker, Screaming Frog, SEMrush/Similarweb, schema validators.
- Clear communicator; data‑driven; able to influence and educate stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills – MS Office, Excel.
- Knowledge of Hybris ideal but not essential & Google Analytics.
- A Hands‑on, get stuck in, approach.
- Excellent time management and an ability to prioritise workload.
