Location: Croydon

Hours: 37.5 | 9.00am – 5.30pm – Hybrid working available depending on role responsibilities with 2 days working from home and 3 days in our stylish, modern and collaborative office close to East Croydon Station.

The DC Communications Executive supports key internal stakeholders to deliver all distribution and transport messaging. From a strategic level, the role drives engagement across all aspects of our Distribution Centres and oversees communications across all internal channels, including the internal communications platform and in‑house events designed to increase team engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Internal Comms team to maintain a rolling calendar of activity across internal channels that aligns with our employer brand and wider business strategies, creating a sense of belonging, purpose and leaving team members feeling informed and included.
  • Own all distribution and transport specific communications plans and manage communications mapping across the distribution centres, including operational communications such as health and safety messaging.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders – including the Supply Chain Director, Heads of Departments, wider operational managers and onsite people teams – to cascade information within the distribution and transport teams.
  • Build relationships across all departments to stay close to their communications priorities and act as an expert when they need to push messages out to specific audiences.
  • Support the people team with the DEI calendar execution at distribution centres.
  • Partner with our corporate charity partner to engage team members in fundraising and understand impact.
  • Report on and analyse internal comms to share updates with key stakeholders, measuring the impact of all activity delivered.
  • Manage the internal comms platform for all relevant departments, including administration and reporting.
  • Work with the wider internal communications team to create digital content for relevant channels and manage internal media screens across distribution centres.
  • Act as a brand guardian for all communications created, including tone of voice.

What You'll Need

  • Understanding of the core principles of internal comms and their importance to our business.
  • Experience delivering a strategy and measuring its success.
  • Experience working with digital platforms such as Canva, SharePoint and systems similar to Facebook.
  • Ability to film and edit content to a basic‑to‑intermediary level, including videos, sound clips and social media assets.
  • Adaptability to adjust plans based on business needs.
  • Ability to work across multiple brands and understand varying tones and branding.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and editing content for diverse audiences and reflecting brand tone of voice, sentiment and clarity.
  • Innovative and creative approach using all media and communication channels.
  • Motivation by the challenge of finding new ways to engage with our teams and satisfaction from developing, delivering and reviewing campaigns.
