Superdrug Head Office – Catering Assistant

Location: East Croydon

Hours: 32 Hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:00am-16:00pm

A Day Includes

We’re currently recruiting a reliable, customer-focused Catering Assistant with barista experience to support our catering operation within a busy corporate workplace. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about great coffee, quality food, and outstanding customer service. As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play a key role in preparing and serving food and drinks to a consistently high standard, supporting the team to deliver an efficient service that delights customers every day. You’ll be supported to grow and develop within a company that invests in its people and offers a friendly working environment with a strong focus on teamwork and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve perfectly crafted coffees and beverages to a high standard.
  • Prepare and serve high-quality food offerings in line with Superdrug standards.
  • Deliver first-class customer service in a professional corporate environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented coffee and service area.
  • Confidently operate coffee machines and brewing equipment.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of brewing methods, beverage blends, and food presentation.
  • Receive and process payments (cash and card transactions) accurately.
  • Maintain stock levels of clean cups, plates, and consumables.
  • Carry out daily equipment checks and report any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Comply with Food Safety, Hygiene, and Health & Safety requirements at all times.
  • Represent Superdrug values and brand standards positively.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced facilities environment.

  • Previous catering or customer service experience, ideally with barista skills.
  • Be confident using coffee machines and brewing equipment.
  • Be a strong communicator who builds positive relationships easily.
  • Show enthusiasm, motivation, and attention to detail.

  • Take initiative and make decisions that enhance the customer experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent timekeeping, reliability, and attendance.
