Join as our first sales hire and help build the engine that brings circular commerce to the world's best brands.

Location: York, UK

Type: Full-time

Engagement: Permanent

We’re hiring our first sales hire at Supercycle. This is one of those roles where the timing matters. You’re early enough that the upside and potential are near unlimited. You and I, together, building the momentum, the team, the future of commerce.

Customers are moving from ownership to access. They want a pram while their child still fits in a pram. A Lego set, until they’ve built it, then they want to swap it for another. THE dress for THAT wedding. The make-sell-waste model can’t keep up with that demand, ethically or commercially. The brands that win next won’t just sell products once. They’ll sell them in cycles — rental, resale, trade-in, subscription, membership swaps… multi-revenue moments from the same inventory.

Supercycle is the platform that lets brands do that, on top of their existing Shopify store, with one unified customer experience. Not a bolt-on. Not a separate site. True circular commerce baked into the core of how they already sell. We’re already working with brands like GORE-TEX, For The Creators, Cirkel Supply, TENS and Baboodle — and demand is accelerating.

The role

You’ll join as our first sales teammate and work incredibly closely with me. We’ll tag-team deals together. Early on, you’ll rack them up:

  • Run pipeline end-to-end at the top of funnel
  • Work inbound leads, partnerships and outbound
  • Qualify hard, ask the right questions and build momentum
  • Use playbooks we’ve already tested and know convert

Then I’ll knock them down with you:

  • We’ll co-run discovery and demos
  • I’ll teach you how we win, how we handle objections, and how we close
  • You’ll learn circular strategy while learning proper sales craft in the real world

Over time, that flips: You move from pipeline to running full sales cycles. We scale the engine together.

Who you are

I don’t care about years of “sales experience.” I care about trajectory. You’re likely early in your sales career and you’re hungry for a shot that matters. Energetic, sharp and ambitious — you want to be early enough that your fingerprints are on everything. High-agency — you don’t wait for instructions, you figure it out and move. Commercially curious — you ask great questions and can sniff out real pain fast. Confident — not loud, not arrogant, just calm and steady under pressure. Technical enough to learn quickly — our product, circular models and your way around Shopify. The type of person who gets energy from momentum and learning curves. Naturally social — you’ll be at events (London, Las Vegas, New York) working conferences and dinners making friends and alliances.

What will be hard (and why that is the point)

There’s a learning curve here. Circular commerce is still new for a lot of merchants and our platform has real depth. But that’s why this role is exciting:

  • You’ll learn faster than almost anyone else in the market
  • You’ll become one of the first people who can truly sell circular and help implement it
  • You’ll be building a category, not just working a quota
  • You’ll be working with incredibly competent merchants, partners and agencies — holding your own may feel daunting

Compensation

Meaningful upside for someone who wants to grow with the company. We’re assuming someone early in their sales career — for someone further along, there is a conversation to be had. Because we’re right at the moment where circular stops being a niche and becomes inevitable. Because this is the earliest seat on a multi-billion-pound outcome. And because every merchant you bring onboard makes the world more circular — shifting growth away from net-new manufacturing and towards repeated use of what already exists. I want you to get wealthy and make the world a better place in the process.
