The Role

Superco is recruiting a UI designer to lead the design of online stores for its DTC clients. The role owns the design phase in full, from brief interpretation through concept exploration to production‑ready UI. The designer works alongside the client services team, which manages the client relationship and customer experience process. The role extends into the build phase, directing developers to ensure the final product meets the original design intent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design phase of DTC ecommerce projects, from brief to delivery.
  • Design online store experiences that improve commercial performance, including conversion, average order value, retention and customer lifetime value.
  • Interpret brand guidelines and apply them across digital experiences in the DTC sector.
  • Design product discovery, product detail pages, basket, checkout and post‑purchase flows.
  • Present design work to clients and articulate the decisions and exploration behind it.
  • Direct developers through the build phase to maintain design integrity.
  • Monitor wider trends in DTC design and apply relevant thinking to Superco projects.

Requirements

  • A portfolio demonstrating ownership of the design phase on completed DTC ecommerce sites.
  • Agency and brand‑side backgrounds are both considered.
  • A track record at mid‑weight to senior level.
  • The successful candidate will be able to deliver independently.
  • Strong UI craft, including typography, layout and brand expression in a digital context.
  • The ability to interpret brand guidelines and translate them into digital experiences for DTC brands.
  • Evidence that design decisions have contributed to measurable commercial outcomes, with the ability to articulate the reasoning behind them.
  • Experience designing for DTC or premium brands. This is a core requirement.
  • The confidence and credibility to present work to clients and respond constructively to feedback.
  • The ability to work effectively within a team alongside strategists, client services, developers and a creative director.
  • Fluency in Figma, including the construction of design systems, components and libraries to support development handover.
  • Self‑management, clear communication and personal accountability.
  • The right to work in the UK and availability to work three days a week from the London studio.
  • Experience of A/B testing or conversion rate optimisation programmes.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as GA4, Shopify analytics or Hotjar.
  • Motion or interaction design skills.
  • Shopify experience.

Terms

  • Location: London studio, three days a week. Remote working on the remaining two.
  • Salary: competitive, reviewed annually.
