About The Role

As a Band 5 Physical Health Nurse, you will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care to residents. You will be involved in emergency response, screening, vaccination clinics, and nurse-led care delivery across the prison.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Delivering safe, effective, and person‑centred care
  • Conducting assessments, triage, and risk evaluations
  • Administering medications and maintaining accurate records
  • Participating in audits, clinical governance, and service improvement

Essential – Knowledge and Experience

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) on the NMC register
  • Experience of working as a Nurse following preceptorship

Desirable – Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of working in a secure environment (desirable but not essential)

  • Autonomously assess and manage patient’s care, with example.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ensuring contemporaneous healthcare records are maintained.
