Job Summary

The post holder will demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Leadership, collaboration and innovation are essential. Candidates must hold an MRC Psych or equivalent with full GMC registration, specialist registration or be within six months of obtaining a CCT. Travel to all Trust locations is required.

Main Duties

  • Deliver specialist psychiatric care, including ECT, gender dysmorphia, prison psychiatry and ketamine infusion.
  • Lead and collaborate on clinical and research projects.
  • Support multidisciplinary team, fostering shared leadership.
  • Provide mentorship, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and CPD.

Person Specification

Essential

  • MRC Psych or equivalent.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Specialist registration (CCT) in General Adult psychiatry.
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act.
  • In good standing with GMC; no warnings or conditions on practice.
  • Commitment to shared leadership & collaborative working.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex information to courts and tribunals.
  • Ability to balance individual and organisational needs.
  • Understanding of the political and financial framework of services.
  • Self‑directed initiative under pressure.

  • Additional postgraduate qualifications.
  • Publication of original research.

  • Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to the NHS.
