We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our integrated healthcare team at Yarls Wood Immigration Removal Centre. The successful candidate will provide high‑quality care and support to residents, working closely with the multidisciplinary team and external agencies to meet holistic needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care and support to residents following NHFT and security guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform clinical observations, report abnormalities, and document accurately in System One.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols to safeguard residents and colleagues.
- Run clinics including phlebotomy, ECG, smoking cessation, chlamydia screening and NHS health screening.
- Conduct resident reception screenings and maintain accurate records of care.
- Manage ordering, stock control and maintenance of healthcare equipment and resources.
- Participate in health promotion events and community health initiatives.
- Develop positive working relationships with centre staff and external agencies.
- Organise workload, manage time effectively under guidance of qualified nurses.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar role.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of NHS procedures and security protocols is advantageous.
