Trust & Safety Lead

The Trust & Safety Team ensures the social aspects of our games are safe, fair, and engaging for hundreds of millions of players every month. We need a lead who can hold the vision, support this incredible team, and navigate the ever‑evolving challenges that come with delivering safe and engaging social experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Hold and articulate the vision for Trust & Safety at Supercell: keep safety, fairness, and player well‑being at the core of our social experiences.
• Lead and foster a culture where senior experts, developers, and operators thrive and help the team align around shared goals.
• Drive operational excellence across Trust & Safety data, operations, and development sub‑cells.
• Set strategic objectives for the team and create space for the team to define the best paths toward achieving them.
• Champion the smart use of technology and AI to improve detection, prevention, and player experience.
• Partner with Player Care, heads of games, and other stakeholders to support the most social experiences safely.
• Be a confident and calming presence in emotionally charged situations.
• Elevate external awareness and internal alignment on emerging risks, newsworthy events, and strategic recommendations.
• Coach and support team members to grow expertise in safety, wellness, regulation, technology, and research.
• Measure and improve reporting on effectiveness, quality, and impact to inform continuous improvement.
• Remove roadblocks that prevent the team from doing their best work and advocate for the resources they need.

What You Have

• Significant Trust & Safety experience with a proven track record of addressing large‑scale player or user safety challenges.
• Leadership experience at senior levels, capable of setting direction without relying on hierarchy.
• Strategic and operational range: balance high‑level vision with deep operational involvement when needed.
• Strong understanding of technology, AI, automation, and data in online safety.
• Excellent English communication skills, able to distill complexity for diverse audiences.
• Global perspective: awareness of how pop culture, current events, and regulation shape online communities worldwide.
• Resilience and empathy: experience handling emotionally difficult content and supporting teams who work with challenging content.
• Proactive and improvement‑driven: habit of seeking better ways to do things for yourself, your team, and the organization.
• Technical literacy: comfort working with technical teams, data scientists, or engineers; familiarity with ML/AI concepts or content moderation tools.
• Hybrid setting experience: comfortable supporting distributed/hybrid teams in regular rituals and habits.

• Multilingual ability: fluency in languages beyond English.
• Cross‑cultural experience: lived or worked abroad or collaborated with global teams.
• Higher education: post‑secondary education in law, policy, sociology, psychology, computer science, or related fields.
• Industry visibility: contributions to panels, conferences, or thought leadership in Trust & Safety or player experience.
• Game or community passion: gamer, community manager, or participant in large online communities.
• Crisis navigation: prior involvement in escalations, complex investigations, or incidents requiring collaboration with law enforcement or regulators.
• Data fluency: ability to interpret and act on insights from data and research.
• Humour under pressure: grounded, human approach that helps the team navigate difficult challenges without losing perspective.
