Overview
The Regulation 44 Independent Visitor plays a statutory role under the Children\'s Homes (England) Regulations 2015. You\\\'ll provide independent monitoring, safeguarding oversight, and quality assurance for our residential children\\\'s homes. This role is crucial in ensuring our homes meet Ofsted standards, children\\\'s voices are heard, and high standards of care are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly visits to each home (minimum 4 hours on site)
- Engage with children, staff, and managers (minimum 2 hours with young people)
- Review records, policies, and daily practice
- Assess compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
- Produce a detailed, independent monthly report with recommendations
- Escalate safeguarding or compliance concerns appropriately
- Maintain impartiality and independence at all times
Personal Attributes & Expectations
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted Children\\\'s Homes Regulations (2015)
- Proven track record of working within Ofsted-regulated children\\\'s services
- Ability to build rapport with young people, including those with learning disabilities and complex needs
- Professional confidence to challenge poor practice constructively
- Clear, accurate, and evidence-based report writing skills
- Independent, organised, and reliable
Working Pattern & Commitment
- 2 visits per month, 1 per home
- Approx. 8 hours per visit:
- 4 hours on site (including 2 hrs with children)
- 4 hours report writing & follow-up
- Self-employed, flexible consultancy basis

- £500 per visit (full day rate, inclusive of report writing)
