Registered Manager - Ofsted Registered Children's Residential Home
Job Title: Registered Manager
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000+ KPI Bonus
Our client at SuperHiring is looking for an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead an established children's residential home in Ipswich.
This is an opportunity to take the lead in a home with a strong history of supporting children and young people, where the focus is on creating a safe, stable and nurturing environment in which every child is given the opportunity to thrive.
The home has been supporting children in the area for many years and has capacity for up to seven young people, typically aged between 9 and 17.
Care is underpinned by the Secure Base Model, with an emphasis on building positive relationships, understanding individual needs and providing consistent, therapeutic support.
The Role
- Lead, motivate and develop an established residential care team, supported by two Deputy Managers.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance.
- Take responsibility for safeguarding, care planning, risk assessments and regulatory requirements.
- Promote relationship-based, therapeutic and child-centred care.
- Ensure every young person's voice is heard and their needs are actively advocated for.
- Build strong relationships with families, social workers, schools, health professionals and external agencies.
- Lead on quality assurance, monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Create a positive team culture built around consistency, accountability and professional development.
The Values Behind the Home
Our client believes every child deserves a home that believes in them. Their approach is built around three key principles:
Putting children first: Ensuring young people have adults who listen to them, advocate for them and make sure their voices are heard.
Stability and commitment: Providing consistent care, building trusting relationships and giving young people the time, patience and support they need to settle and grow.
Always learning: Investing in staff development, reflecting on practice and continually looking for ways to improve the quality of care.
The aim is to build a home around each child, looking beyond behaviour to understand the individual and what they need to feel safe, valued and supported.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working within a children's residential setting.
- Experience supporting young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, children's legislation and Ofsted regulations.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing, supervising and developing a team.
- The ability to lead by example and promote high standards of care.
- A genuine commitment to relationship-based and therapeutic practice.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or a willingness to work towards it.
What's on Offer?
- £50,000-£60,000 salary, depending on experience.
- Additional KPI bonus.
- 32 days annual leave, including bank holidays.
- Funded training and ongoing professional development.
- Support from an experienced senior management team.
- Opportunities for career progression.
- The chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people.
