SuperCare is recruiting an experienced and resilient Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a new, high‑need children's residential home in Eversfield. This service will support young people with significant trauma histories, learning disabilities, complex mental health needs, and high‑risk behaviours. This is a key leadership role, suited to someone who thrives in complex environments and is confident balancing operational oversight with hands‑on, therapeutic practice. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates safely, consistently, and to a high Ofsted standard.
Young People You'll Support May Present With:
- Significant emotional dysregulation and trauma histories
- Learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, and attachment difficulties
- Self‑harm, crisis behaviours, and poor emotional regulation
- Boundary challenges and high‑risk behaviours
- Complex placement histories and safeguarding needs
Your Role as Deputy Manager:
- Support the Registered Manager with the day‑to‑day operational leadership of the home
- Lead on care planning, risk assessments, placement plans, and safeguarding processes
- Oversee and quality‑assure shift practice, documentation, and staff decision‑making
- Provide guidance and leadership to Advanced Coaches and residential staff
- Work directly with young people when required, modelling calm, trauma‑informed practice
- Build strong professional relationships with social workers, families, and external agencies
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation
- Support staff development through supervision, coaching, and reflective practice
- Contribute to audits, incident reviews, and continuous service improvement
Qualifications and Experience:
- Significant experience in children’s residential care, ideally within complex or high‑risk services
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader, or equivalent senior role
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and Ofsted expectations
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (completed or willing to work towards)
- Calm, confident leadership style with strong professional judgement
- Ability to remain emotionally resilient in high‑pressure situations
- Full UK driving licence
