A Day Coach at SuperCare provides energy, warmth, and structure to children with learning disabilities who are active, curious, and full of personality. These children need adults who can match their pace - running up the stairs, joining in their play, and staying by their side to keep them safe. Their behaviour can sometimes become aggressive, with moments of violence towards adults or damage to property, but these are expressions of frustration and unmet needs. Your role is to respond calmly, with humour, consistency, and genuine care. You'll be teaching them about the world through constant conversation, showing them how to manage hygiene routines, encouraging them to engage in education, and being their anchor when things feel overwhelming. No two days will look the same, but every day will matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Support children with daily routines, including hygiene, meals, and travel to school.
  • Keep children engaged through play, conversation, and structured activities.
  • Help with homework and encourage educational engagement, using tools like 'now and next' and social stories.
  • Respond with calm and professionalism to physical aggression, property damage, or defiance.
  • Supervise children closely, ensuring they are never left without interaction or support.
  • Build trust and relationships through humour, energy, and warmth.

What We’re Looking For

  • We're looking for people who can bring both compassion and resilience to the role, staying positive while handling challenging situations.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities.
  • Confidence managing physical aggression and willing to use safe physical holds if needed.
  • Energetic, bubbly, and able to keep pace with active children.
  • Strong English skills (spoken and written) and good initiative.
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to connect with children at their level.

Benefits Working at SuperCare

  • Working at SuperCare means being part of a company that values its people as much as the children we care for, offering support, recognition, and growth.
  • Salary 20% above sector average.
  • Rota: 07:30-22:30, 1 day on / 2 days off.
  • 36 days of training each year, including PBS, de-escalation, and SEN strategies.
  • Fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care.
  • Private healthcare.
