Children’s Residential Home – Eastbourne
£34,000 pre-probation | £35,000 post-probation | Full-time
We are recruiting experienced, confident residential childcare professionals to join a new high-risk, complex needs children’s home in Eastbourne. This service will support young people with significant emotional, behavioural and mental health needs, and as such we are only recruiting at an advanced level.
As an advanced complex behaviour coach, you will be paid at an enhanced rate due to the complexity of the home, but the focus of the role is hands-on, therapeutic care and modelling exceptional practice on the floor.
The Young People You’ll Support May Present With:
- High-risk and challenging behaviours
- Significant emotional dysregulation and trauma histories
- Learning disabilities, autism and ADHD
- Mental health needs including self-harm and crisis behaviours
- Poor attachment experiences and boundary difficulties
Your Role as an Advanced Complex Behaviour Coach:
- Provide consistent, trauma-informed care in a high-risk environment
- Model calm, confident responses to complex and challenging behaviours
- Act as a role model and informal mentor to less experienced staff on shift
- Support young people with routines, regulation, emotional safety and daily living
- Follow and contribute to robust care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans
- Maintain high safeguarding standards and accurate documentation
- Work collaboratively with managers, professionals and the wider team
- Contribute to building a strong, stable culture within a brand-new service
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Proven experience supporting children with complex needs and challenging behaviour
- Confident, emotionally resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional judgement
- Reliable, consistent and values-led in practice
- Full UK driving licence (ideal)
Working Pattern:
We operate a consistent pod-based rota to support a healthy work-life balance! You can choose from either:
- Day shifts: 1 day on / 2 days off, 7:30am – 10:30pm
- Night shifts: 2 nights on / 2 nights off, 10:00pm – 8:00am
