General Maintenance Operative (Handyman) - Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 14:00 Job Type: Part Time - Permanent Overview We are looking for a reliable and proactive General Maintenance Operative to support the day-to-day upkeep of our bowling centre. This role is essential in ensuring the site remains safe, functional and presentable for customers and staff. The ideal candidate will have practical maintenance skills, a hands-on approach and pride in maintaining high standards across the venue. Full training will be provided on all bowling lane maintenance and operational procedures. Key Responsibilities Lane maintenance Carry out daily checks and basic maintenance on bowling lanes. Identify issues and report faults promptly to management. General site upkeep Ensure the building is kept clean, tidy and presentable at all times. Maintain all areas of the site to a high standard including customer areas, staff spaces and back of house. Basic repairs and practical tasks Light carpentry tasks such as fixing panels and minor woodwork repairs. Painting and touch ups as required. Changing light bulbs, fuses and completing basic electrical tasks within competency. General handyman duties to ensure the site remains fully operational. Health and safety Follow all site safety procedures and ensure maintenance tasks are carried out safely. Report hazards, damage or safety concerns immediately. Other duties Support with any reasonable maintenance tasks required by the business. Work independently and manage time effectively within the 8 to 2 shift. Skills and Experience Previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role preferred. Practical skills in basic repairs, painting and general upkeep. Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Reliable, punctual and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
