Are you an experienced Office Manager looking for a varied role where you can make a real impact across operations, compliance, facilities and team leadership? Our client, a purpose-led and forward-thinking consultancy within the engineering and built environment sector, is seeking an organised and proactive Office Manager to support the smooth running of their Wimbledon office and wider business operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on operations professional who enjoys taking ownership, driving improvements and ensuring a business operates efficiently, safely and compliantly.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations & ESG, you will play a central role in maintaining a safe, efficient and well-managed working environment while supporting key operational initiatives across the business. This is a broad and rewarding position covering:
- Office & Facilities Management
- Manage the day-to-day running of the office, ensuring a professional and effective working environment
- Coordinate facilities management, maintenance activities and compliance checks
- Act as the key contact for building management, suppliers and contractors
- Oversee supplier contracts, approvals and service reviews
- Manage office supplies, equipment and workspace standards
- Health & Safety
- Lead and maintain health & safety processes across the business
- Create, review and update risk assessments including office, fire safety, DSE and pregnant worker assessments
- Manage DSE assessments and staff H&S training requirements
- Maintain accurate H&S documentation and provide guidance to employees
- Compliance & Audits
- Manage compliance processes including GDPR and internal audit schedules
- Coordinate and maintain business accreditations including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Acclaim
- Support external audits and compliance reviews
- Identify and mitigate compliance risks
- Deliver training and continuous improvement initiatives across business support functions
- Team Leadership
- Line manage and support the Business Administration team
- Provide coaching, development and day-to-day direction
- Ensure consistent and effective administrative support across the business
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture
- Operations Support
- Support strategic operational projects and initiatives
- Review and improve business processes and efficiencies
- Oversee data accuracy and reporting systems, including CMAP and Power BI
About You
We're looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with:
- Proven experience in an Office Manager, Operations Manager or senior administration role
- Experience working within a professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience managing ISO standards, accreditations and audits (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 desirable)
- Previous line management or team leadership experience
- Facilities and premises management experience
- Experience producing and reviewing risk assessments
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI would be advantageous
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities
