An established accounting and tax practice based in South West London is seeking an Office Practice Manager to support the smooth running of the business. This role would suit an experienced finance professional, ideally with an accounting qualification, who would enjoy more of a varied operational role. This is a full-time, office-based position, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (including a 1-hour lunch break).
Key Responsibilities
- Managing daily banking activities, including payments, receipts and client money transactions, and reconciling bank accounts.
- Bookkeeping for multiple business entities using Sage Accounting, supported by Excel where required.
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns and producing annual financial accounts.
- Raising client invoices with clear service narratives, managing debtors, handling client queries and administering payment plans.
- Maintaining the in-house time-tracking system for staff, including reporting and supporting client billing.
- Processing monthly payroll using Sage Payroll and supporting HR activities such as recruitment, contracts, appraisals, holidays and sickness records.
- Ensuring employee training and CPD requirements are met.
- Overseeing general business administration, including insurance renewals, professional body memberships and managing third-party suppliers and service contracts.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented, proactive and solutions-focused, with a high level of professionalism.
- Able to work independently and handle sensitive business matters with discretion and integrity.
- Technically proficient in Sage Accounting and Sage Payroll, with strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
