What You’ll Do

  • Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role is accountable for reporting outputs, reporting standards, technical accounting and external disclosures.
  • This role is designed as a technical and reporting position, acting as the hands‑on technical lead, raising standards through example and direct ownership of complex areas.
  • In our small team, ownership means personally preparing core deliverables and being accountable for their accuracy and timeliness, not delegating or reviewing others’ work.

Reporting and Audit

  • Prepare monthly bookings reporting.
  • Own the accuracy of monthly PBI reporting dashboards.
  • Own statutory accounts and external investor reporting from start to finish, including preparing and completing a large portion of the fieldwork.
  • Act as primary point of contact for external auditors and advisors.
  • Ensure on‑time, clean audit opinions.

Financial Close

  • Prepare the monthly intercompany accounting, consolidation and cashflow report.
  • Prepare accounting elements of the monthly reporting deck.
  • Partner with the Finance Manager to improve close accuracy, automation, and documentation.
  • Own accounting treatment for strategic partner relationships, benefits, and rebates.

While the Finance Manager coordinates the close, this role is fully accountable for the accuracy and completeness of all areas they prepare, including resolution of issues and audit queries. This role is a deep individual‑contributor position and technical expert.

Accounting and Technical Expertise

  • Own accurate accounting for revenue recognition, accruals, provisions, share‑based compensation, and complex contracts.
  • Draft and maintain accounting policies in line with IFRS / US GAAP (as applicable).
  • Evaluate new products, commercial models, acquisitions and contracts for accounting impact.
  • Integrate opening balances from acquired businesses and own acquisition accounting.
  • Completing certain elements of due diligence where required.

Tax

  • First point of contact for international tax compliance and responsible for draft tax computations.
  • Playing a key role in global tax compliance, including transfer pricing and US tax filings.
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns.
  • Act as primary point of contact for tax authorities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Accountant (3‑5 years post‑qualified experience).
  • US GAAP qualified or significant US GAAP experience.
  • 2+ years of total experience working in industry.
  • In‑depth knowledge and practical application of Netsuite or equivalent ERP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of US and UK international corporate tax and transaction tax compliance.
  • Good knowledge of the Ad‑Tech industry would be a plus.
  • Proven ability to personally prepare complex accounting outputs and stand behind them with senior stakeholders and auditors.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Curious, resilient, solutions‑focused and biased toward action.
  • The highest degree of professional ethics and integrity.
