You will be joining the Finance Transformation team, which holds overall responsibility for defining and overseeing the Finance Transformation Roadmap. As
Project Portfolio Manager (Finance) , you will manage the portfolio of projects across the Finance vertical — aligning them with strategic goals, optimising resource allocation, monitoring performance, and managing risk to ensure the portfolio delivers maximum value.
The role also requires a hands-on approach, with the expectation that you will step into project management, business analysis, change management, or stakeholder engagement responsibilities as needed to achieve the right outcomes for Finance's internal customers.

- Primary responsibilities
- Evaluate and select projects that align with the organisation's and department's strategic vision, analysing proposals to assess their potential impact and business value.
- Optimise resource allocation across the portfolio, identify constraints, and proactively address bottlenecks in collaboration with project managers.
- Track KPIs across all portfolio projects, assess progress regularly, and generate reports to provide visibility into portfolio health and risks.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the portfolio; develop contingency plans and escalate critical issues as needed.
- Prioritise projects based on business value, urgency, and resource availability, facilitating decision-making on project selection, de-prioritisation, or cancellation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across departments, ensuring alignment on portfolio goals and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate portfolio status and performance regularly to key stakeholders, including senior management.
- Secondary responsibilities
- Assume a hands-on project management role to oversee business process reengineering and digital transformation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to scope.
- Conduct business analysis to identify process pain points and define requirements for transformation initiatives.
- Lead change management activity by communicating the transformation vision, supporting employee training, and managing resistance to change.
- Provide support on ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
- What we are looking for
- Degree-level education, ideally with a Big 4 background and 3–4 years of post-qualified experience.
- Hands-on experience in a Finance operational role and/or leading Finance projects, ideally including Record to Report processes such as month-end financial close, FP&A, statutory reporting, and direct and indirect taxation.
- Proven experience in project management methodologies and best practices, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Understanding of financial analysis and budgeting principles to assess project viability.
- Expertise in portfolio management tools and software.
- Leadership ability to guide project teams and manage complex portfolio initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Fluency in English with strong written communication skills.
- Experience working in a multicultural, multi-location environment, with the ability to work independently and prioritise workload as part of a geographically dispersed team.
- Proactive self-starter with the drive and ambition to make an impact within an evolving business.
