About The Role: This is a hands-on, high accountability role responsible for maintaining safe, compliant and homely environments across our children’s homes. You will take ownership of day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and compliance related tasks, ensuring all properties meet the standards expected by Ofsted and internal quality frameworks. Where standards fall below expectation, you act immediately. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our homes are not only compliant, but environments where children and young people feel safe, secure and cared for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across multiple residential homes
- Complete works across general trades including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating
- Conduct routine property inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues proactively
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and emergencies in a timely and effective manner
- Ensure all homes meet health and safety and compliance standards at all times
- Support with property readiness for new home openings, refurbishments and improvements
- Maintain accurate records of completed works, outstanding tasks and compliance actions
- Liaise with external contractors where specialist works are required
