About Us: SuperCare Residential Services is a specialist provider of therapeutic residential homes for children and young people with intellectual disabilities and complex neurodevelopmental needs. We currently operate registered homes in London (Ilford, Norwood) and Eastbourne, offering tailored, high-quality care within nurturing environments.

Role Overview: Under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, you will provide vital psychological support to both the young people and staff within our homes. You will assist with delivering evidence-based, psychologically-informed interventions, contributing to individualised care planning and maintaining a consistently nurturing therapeutic environment. In this role, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary therapy team, including an Occupational Therapist (OT), Speech and Language Therapist (SALT), Behaviour Analyst, and Dietician, to ensure a holistic approach to care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assessment, formulation, and implementation of psychological support for children and young people.
  • Contribute to individualised care plans through observation, data collection, and reflective practice.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group-based and individual interventions where appropriate.
  • Provide psychologically-informed support to care staff, including contributing to reflective practice sessions.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of therapeutic approaches and outcomes.
  • Maintain clear, sensitive, and confidential records in line with ethical and professional standards.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing development.

Essential Criteria:

  • A 2:1 or above in a Psychology degree (BPS accredited).
  • Experience of working with children or young people, particularly those with social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
  • An understanding of trauma, attachment, and neurodevelopmental frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Capacity to work sensitively within a team and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in residential care, education, or mental health settings.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as PACE, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, or trauma-informed care.
  • Intent to pursue further training in therapy-related fields.
