Reporting to the Bowmore Accommodation Manager, the post holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day operation (including off-site events and online sales), with the aim of delivering a world class premium brand experience that will enhance the brand image and deliver value to the business.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Bowmore Accommodation Manager, including weekend and evening working as required.
  • Provide administration, finance and reporting support as required.
  • Provide support with online reservation platforms and systems.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of The Harbour Inn Team.
  • Work closely with the Manager to define annual goals/objectives.
  • Work with the team to ensure company operational procedures and H&S practices are adhered to rigorously.
  • Prepare, cook and serve the food and beverage options available to our guests.
  • Housekeeping duties as required.
  • Lead the training and development of new recruits and existing colleagues, whilst ensuring training records are kept up to date.
  • Attend site meetings (team briefings, distillery operations, H&S etc.) when required to do so.
  • Ensure Visitor Centre facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness at all times.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and to build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong drive and desire to succeed with high levels of energy, focus and ambition.
  • Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

  • Has 2-3 years’ experience of leading a team in a management capacity, including allocation of resource, colleague training, motivating teams and customer service delivery standards.
  • Understanding of budgets, forecasting and P&L accounts.
  • Current Driving License.
  • Previous experience within the hospitality, retail and/or tourism sector is desirable.

Please note this role is Part Time and based on the Isle of Islay.
