Based at The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages and working alongside a passionate team of individuals across our Suntory Global Spirits sites on Islay, the Housekeeping General Assistant role ensures the smooth operation of housekeeping duties to allow a world class customer experience to be delivered. Alongside a team of housekeeping staff, you will support and ensure the cleanliness and presentation of accommodation and public areas throughout The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages is maintained to a premium standard.
Role Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning of The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages as required.
- Provide a daily room cleaning service in The Harbour Inn hotel rooms as required.
- Turnover and cleaning of Bowmore Distillery Cottages as required.
- Presentation of The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages to a premium standard, including all communal areas throughout The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages.
- Laundry â washing, drying, and ironing linen and towels to a high standard.
- Ensure H&S checks are completed as scheduled â Legionella, Fire Safety, etc.
- Check all equipment, lighting etc. is functional throughout The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages.
- Report monthly meter readings.
- Ordering consumable items for the rooms â e.g., slippers, soap, coffee, etc.
- Update team members with relevant hand over information or actions required.
- Attend team meetings and lead team projects as required.
- Accept and organize deliveries as required.
- Liaise with office staff to ensure any property left at The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages is returned to the correct owner.
- Report repairs and maintenance to the department supervisor and/or manager, action urgent repairs and maintenance by contacting contractors as required.
- Suggest and implement continual improvements to enhance the customer experience.
- Assist with Front of House service as required.

Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience within the hospitality, retail and/or tourism sector is desirable.
- Previous housekeeping experience is desirable.
- Basic computer skills required.
