ABOUT YOU

You are a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in biological sciences, chemistry, food sciences, microbiology, or a related scientific discipline. You have extensive hands-on experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, particularly within the food and beverage industry. Your qualifications include HACCP certification and auditing skills, ideally to a GFSI standard level. You possess a deep understanding of contemporary food/drink industry QA, GMP, and QMS practices, and have a proven track record of achieving targets for yourself and your teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Assistant Technical and Quality Manager for External Supply, you will be responsible for managing the technical and quality aspects of co-packer and repacker operations. You will act as the local quality representative for goods imported from sister SBFE sites and as the supplier quality representative for goods exported from SBFE GB+I managed co-packers to other SBFE business units. Your role will involve auditing designated suppliers, managing supplier relationships, resolving issues using CAPA/PDCA/SDCA tools, and leading local incident committees. You will also support the delivery of strategic quality objectives, maintain an effective QMS, and represent the quality function in technical transfer activities.

To be successful in this role, you will need strong technical, quality, and food safety knowledge, particularly in QA, GMP, and QMS practices within the food and beverage industry. Organizational and prioritization skills are important to remain focused on delivery. You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with successful project management experience. Proficiency in risk assessment, prioritization, ownership, and mitigation is necessary. Additionally, a good level of IT skills is required to effectively use available tools. Operational knowledge of food and beverage production, contract manufacturing business models, and UK/EU food and beverage legislation will also be key to your success.
