About The Role. To ensure Suntera attains competent standards of regulatory and other compliance practices by providing practical, efficient and commercially balanced compliance solutions. The purpose of the role is to assist the Compliance team with the development and management of the Compliance function. In particular to ensure that the Compliance and Countering Financial Crime (“CFC”) frameworks are maintained and developed to meet the needs of Suntera and to ensure that such frameworks are properly understood by everyone within the business.

Your duties will include:

  • Help develop and promote a strong and properly functional Compliance culture within Suntera
  • Assist with the completion and maintenance of the Compliance Monitoring Programme and reporting any deficiencies
  • Log and keep up to date all relevant registers, including but not limited to, risk, breaches, complaints, PII notifications, errors, PEPs and introduced business registers
  • Assist with the review of CDD and new business packs, as well as dealing with ad hoc CDD queries that arise
  • Assist with the collation and presentation of information for management reporting
  • Investigate and report on any adverse information regarding the client, potential client or related parties found via the internet, RiskScreen, automated screening or via other means
  • Assist with the completion of regulatory returns and information requests from all third parties such as service providers and regulatory/law enforcement bodies and ensure these are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Work with the Compliance team to ensure that Suntera’s policies, procedures and controls are properly embedded, effective and robust, in order to support the immediate and future business plans and adhere to regulatory requirements
  • Review and close off the daily RiskScreen hits
  • Escalate any issues, risks or concerns to the Compliance Manager as appropriate in a timely manner, whilst helping development & implement solutions
  • Assist with the provision of staff training
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned to you by your Manager

About you. Skills and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an office environment or compliance role
  • Hold or be willing to study towards a relevant professional qualification
  • Knowledge of Guernsey finance industry and regulatory requirements
  • Be able to organise and prioritise effectively
  • Be accurate in your work and have excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of staff
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Presentation and report writing skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively
