Job overview:
Sunswap is seeking a dedicated Installation Engineer to lead our critical installation process at one of our largest client’s production facilities. In this pivotal role, your primary focus will drive customer satisfaction by ensuring installations are completed in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and OEM standards. You will manage and oversee on‑site repairs as needed, while ensuring 100% on‑time installation completion and seamless customer delivery.
As the leader of day‑to‑day operations at one of our major client’s production facilities, you will oversee every stage of the installation process. This includes allocating tasks, ensuring the highest standards of work and quality, and managing the delivery logistics. You will also handle ‘goods‑in’ and ‘goods‑out’ processes, maintain accurate delivery records, and ensure effective on‑site stock control.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and accurately document all deliveries to the site.
- Ensure 100% stock control accuracy, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Maintain on‑site tooling, promptly reporting any defects to the line manager.
- Oversee and allocate tasks throughout the installation process, ensuring timely completion.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- Perform on‑site repairs as necessary and document defects using the designated reporting systems.
- Conduct Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDI) of products before customer delivery to ensure quality standards are met.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborate closely with diverse engineering teams, supporting mechanical and electrical tasks to drive success across multiple projects.
Qualifications & experience:
- Proven experience in maintenance repair and diagnostics for refrigerated trailers, HVAC or related systems.
- The ability to carry out mechanical and electrical field tasks.
- F‑GAS category 1.
- A basic understanding of low voltage electrical systems.
- Good knowledge of refrigeration systems and required maintenance.
- The ability to troubleshoot unplanned maintenance issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret/execute written instructions as well as work collaboratively as part of a wider team across the business.
- A ‘can‑do’ attitude and ability to work within the timescales set through SLAs.
- A passion for the environment and being a force for good.
- Proven ability to prioritise and manage your time.
