We are seeking an experienced Lowboy CDL-A Driver to transport and deliver heavy construction equipment to and from job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of DOT regulations, experience with oversized loads, and a commitment to safe operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate lowboy trucks to haul heavy construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and other machinery.
- Safely load, secure, and unload equipment using appropriate chains, binders, and tie-down procedures.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and inspection records in compliance with DOT requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, foremen, and equipment operators regarding schedules and delivery locations.
- Perform basic truck maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CDL Class A driver.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a lowboy or heavy haul driver in the construction industry.
- Experience hauling oversized and overweight loads.
- Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and state-specific hauling regulations.
- Ability to operate winches, ramps, and other loading equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and secure heavy chains and binders.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
