ASSISTANT PRODUCER - TV SPORTS PRODUCTION in Glasgow

Are you an experienced sports production professional with strong editorial instincts and a flair for creating engaging features? We are looking for an Assistant Producer to join our Glasgow-based Editorial Team, primarily working across our live sport productions for BBC ALBA.

Sunset+Vine, the sports arm of Tinopolis Group, is a global sports media company with major international host broadcast production contracts and UK and international broadcast commissions. We produce more than 2,000 hours of original sports programming each year, spanning live coverage, highlights and feature programming.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Lead Producer, you will work closely with the Editorial Team at every stage of a programme, developing ideas and producing relevant, accurate and engaging content. You will also work on site at matches as part of the live production team and contribute to other Sunset+Vine productions throughout the year.

This is a varied, practical role combining research, filming, scripting and editing with the demands of live sports broadcasting. We would love to hear from someone who knows sport, enjoys working collaboratively and is always looking for ways to improve our coverage.

What you will be doing

• Develop, manage and create feature content in close collaboration with the Editorial Team.
• Produce feature VTs, including research, shoot planning and on-site production.
• Operate camera equipment and self-shoot features, while helping to maintain the equipment.
• Produce, edit and write scripts, teases, features and other elements for live programmes.
• Edit on a laptop, create rough cuts from rushes and supervise edit sessions to deliver finished feature VTs.
• Work with the Content Coordinator on ingesting and managing media.
• Manage VT workflows in the gallery and on outside broadcasts, including creating analysis and graphics content for live programming.
• Undertake Graphics Operator and floor manager duties when required. Training will be provided.

What we are looking for

• A proven track record in live sports production and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality programmes.
• Sound editorial judgement and the ability to work within relevant editorial guidelines.
• Experience operating and maintaining camera equipment, including the ability to self-shoot.
• Experience of laptop editing and rough-cutting feature rushes, using Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid.
• In-depth sports knowledge and an understanding of how to make coverage engaging for its audience.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing production demands.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• A valid driving licence.
• Football knowledge and experience, an interest in multiple sports, existing Graphics Operator skills and the ability to speak and understand Gaelic are desirable, but not essential. Specific graphics training will be provided.
• This role is based in Glasgow. When not travelling for work, the successful candidate will need to be in the office for at least 3 days per week.
• The role involves some unsociable hours, bank holiday working and on-site weekend work as required.
• Travelling and working at locations across the UK and internationally may be required.
