Sunset+Vine, the sports arm of Tinopolis Group, is a global sports media company with major international host broadcast production contracts and UK and international broadcast commissions. We produce more than 2,000 hours of original sports programming a year - a combination of live, highlights and feature programming. We are based in London, with offices in Glasgow, Cardiff and Milan.
The Assistant Producer will be based at our Glasgow office, primarily working across our live sport productions for BBC ALBA. Note there will be a requirement to work on other productions across the company during the contract period. This role will be working within the Editorial Team reporting to the Lead Producer. The Assistant Producer will work closely with the Editorial Team in all stages of a programme, contributing and developing ideas for programmes and feature content, ensuring it is relevant, accurate and engaging.
Main Responsibilities
- Development, management and creation of feature content working in close collaboration with the Editorial Team.
- Produce feature VT including research, shoot set up and onsite production.
- Operate camera equipment for feature shoots including the ability to self-shoot.
- Contribute to the maintenance of camera equipment.
- Produce, edit and write scripts, teases, features and other elements for live shows.
- Deliver laptop editing and rough-cut rushes for feature VTs, in addition to supervising edit sessions to produce feature VTs.
- Collaborate with Content Coordinator in the ingest and media management of content.
- Manage VT workflows in gallery and outside broadcasts including the creation of analysis content and graphic content for live programming.
- Graphics Operator duties where required.
The ideal Candidate
- Proven track record in live sports production and producing the highest level of quality and consistency across all programmes.
- Sound editorial judgment that will ensure compliance with relevant editorial guidelines.
- Experience operating and maintaining camera equipment is essential.
- Experience of laptop editing and rough cutting rushes for feature VTs is essential.
- Experience with Premier Pro or Avid essential.
- In depth knowledge of the sport.
- Football experience and knowledge desirable.
- Multi-Sport interest desirable.
- Should continually seek ways to improve our coverage, keeping content and execution engaging and entertaining for the target audience.
- Existing Graphics Operator skills and experience are desirable but not essential - specific training will be given as part of this role.
- Gaelic speaker with strong language understanding desirable but not essential.
- Valid drivers licence.
- Highly developed organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with clients and staff at all levels.
Please note: Production will involve working some unsociable hours, bank holidays and weekend work as necessary. This role may involve working onsite at various locations across the UK and worldwide.
