We have an exciting opportunity for a Photomedia Technician to join the team on a term time only basis. In return, you will receive a competitive rate of £23,014 per annum, pro rata. We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
About the role: As the Photomedia Technician, you will assist the work of the Art, Design Photomedia department through the provision of effective and efficient technical and administrative support for the delivery of our courses, to ensure the smooth running of departmental business. Providing cross-college support and assistance to students who have identified learning needs.
Responsibilities as our Photomedia Technician will include:
- Co-ordinating of Art, Design Photomedia Department technicians and assisting teaching staff to keep all areas of the department’s accommodation in a clean, tidy and well-organised state, with particular attention to Health and Safety.
- Co-ordination of all Studio and Workshop facilities within the department in relation to equipment, resources and storage of students work, and attendance of department meetings.
- Assisting with the management of materials and budget.
- Carrying out periodic stock and inventory checks and updating as required for audit purposes.
- Issuing equipment and materials to students and staff.
- Demonstration and assistance to members of staff and students, in the use of apparatus and equipment.
- In liaison with Head of ADP undertaking, and maintaining records of regular safety checks on equipment, tools and materials used to ensure they comply with Health and Safety Regulations and requirements.
- Assisting staff with general clerical duties and with the maintenance of records for the Section.
As our Photomedia Technician, you’ll ideally have:
- General education to at least level 3.
- Experience in Audio visual and Photomedia equipment use and handling including Photographic and Media studio skills.
- Familiarity with use of a range of hand tools and power tools.
- The ability to work alongside 16-19 year olds.
- Desire to work in Art, Design Photomedia environment and to support an enthusiastic team.
