We have an exciting opportunity for multiple Learning Support Assistants to join the team on an annualised hours basis. In return, you will receive a salary of £23,556 - £23,764 pro rata, per annum, depending on qualifications. We are a high-achieving college attracting around 2,800 sixth form students annually, located within the stunning New Forest National Park. We offer a wide range of courses and excellent facilities.

About The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide support across college to students with identified learning needs.

Responsibilities as Our Learning Support Assistant Will Include:

  • Supporting the Student: Identify support strategies using existing documentation, student profiles, and in consultation with tutors. Assist students in learning effectively both in groups and individually by clarifying instructions and explaining concepts.
  • Supporting the Tutor: Contribute to maintaining student progress records and provide feedback to tutors regarding progress, achievement, attitude, and behaviour. Assist with routine tests, invigilate exams, and act as reader/scribe as appropriate.
  • Supporting the Curriculum: Support learning activities, develop students' competence and independence, including ICT skills. Prepare and utilise equipment and resources.
  • Supporting the College: Adhere to policies on child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting concerns as necessary. Support diversity and ensure equal access to learning opportunities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • GCSEs (Grade C or above) in Maths, English, and ICT.
  • Ability to relate well to students with diverse needs.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant support qualifications.
  • Ability to build professional, supportive relationships with students and staff.
  • Passion for supporting young people's learning and integration.
