About Sunseeker International

Sunseeker was founded on a bold vision: to create a new kind of yacht and redefine what was possible on the water. From our earliest designs in 1967, we’ve pushed boundaries and reshaped the motor yacht industry through innovation, craftsmanship and relentless ambition.

At the heart of every Sunseeker lies a legacy of expert hands and meticulous attention to detail, skills refined and passed down through generations. These are the qualities that set our yachts apart - and the qualities that continue to drive our craft today.

In a world increasingly defined by automation, we remain committed to building hand‑crafted, hand‑finished boats. With over 1,800 talented team members across our busy shipyards - from long‑serving specialists to more than 180 apprentices - our Sunseeker workforce reflects the strength, diversity and pride of our local community. It’s this blend of heritage, skill and passion that makes our shipyards unlike any other place in the world.

Who We Are Seeking

We are looking for a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join our Engineering Design team at Sunseeker International. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a passion for innovative design, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and integration of machinery and systems across our luxury yacht range, supporting both new product development and existing vessel platforms. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and take pride in producing accurate and manufacturable engineering designs.

A Day in the Life

No two days are the same in this role. You could be developing detailed 3D CAD models of steering or stabilisation systems, producing installation drawings for production teams, collaborating with suppliers on component selection, or supporting innovative new yacht projects.

Working closely with Engineering Team Leaders and colleagues across Design and Planning, you will help bring world-class engineering solutions from concept through to manufacture, ensuring designs meet quality, compliance, and performance standards.

Example Responsibilities Include

  • Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Siemens NX or similar CAD software.
  • Designing and integrating machinery and system components for luxury yachts.
  • Supporting the development of steering, thruster, stabilisation, exhaust, fire suppression, HVAC, fuel, fresh water, grey water, black water, and bilge systems.
  • Creating technical documentation, installation drawings, and owner manual content.
  • Maintaining accurate engineering data and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within SAP.
  • Working closely with suppliers and external partners to support technical development and problem-solving.
  • Ensuring designs comply with company standards, classification requirements, and manufacturing processes.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, efficiency, and standardisation.

To Be Considered for This Role You Should Have

  • A degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Design Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Strong experience using 3D CAD software, ideally Siemens NX or a similar package.
  • Previous experience in a Design Engineer role, preferably within the marine industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • A collaborative approach and a desire to contribute to innovative engineering solutions.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and compliance
