POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine daily, weekly, monthly usages of ingredients and packaging supplies and create purchase orders using MRP System.
- Accurately follow all company purchasing policy requirements with clarity, accuracy and completeness, from purchase order creation and throughout the accounts payables process.
- Manage existing vendor relationships by monitoring, controlling, analyzing and optimizing inventory and consumption of supplies.
- Expedite and follow up on orders ensuring materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates, and resolve situations such as delivery timing conflicts.
- Participate with Production Schedule process and stakeholders, updating all committed shipments and ETA’s with direct team and shared stakeholders.
- Support inventory logistics management team and process as needed, communicating regularly regarding updates to usage, damage, launch and in-process relaunch activities.
- Provide regular updates to plant leadership regarding backorders, aging reports, and liabilities.
- Design and implement the safety stock model for high consumption materials.
- Work with Cambridge Warehouse Team to identify materials getting close to expiry and define the action plan.
- Provide support to the Scheduler regarding material availability confirmation, analysis of planning scenarios and new product launch execution.
- Inform the production team of the transition from old art to new art materials.
- Report and define action plan for the following KPI’s: dry materials inventory turnover, inventory level at month end, and slow mover materials.
- Identify, implement and report cost saving initiatives related to the procurement of materials.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma with some exposure/education in Supply Chain or Business. Completion or Enrollment in Supply Chain Management courses would be an asset.
- Previous Purchasing experience strongly desired.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be agile and willing to react quickly to troubleshoot issues.
- Strong communication skills both spoken and written are required.
Salary: $62,000 - $68,000 a year.
