GRF is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright for the Night shift.
Night shift – 10:30pm – 7:30am Monday to Friday – some weekend overtime required.
GRF operates in a cold, fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Applicants must be comfortable working with meat products (beef, pork, chicken, seafood, soy, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain all production-related equipment
- Provide troubleshooting and support during all downtime events
- Comply with all necessary manufacturing practices, regulations and standards, i.e., GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS etc.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance activities as needed to improve asset health
- Maintain detailed records of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Collaborate with the maintenance planner to improve preventative maintenance activities
- Identify and communicate continuous improvement ideas to the management team
- Actively promote health and safety in the workplace
- Complete maintenance reports and logs as required
- Ensure all production equipment is serviced as required
- Monitor and adjust equipment to lower utility costs
- Enforce established safety, health, contamination and housekeeping policies and procedures to prevent injuries, lost production time, damage, and product contamination
- Ensure work areas are always clean and hazard-free
- Work safely and efficiently following legislated and company health and safety standards
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- Valid Millwright license with proof of apprenticeship
- Able to perform routine machine shop practices (lathe & milling machine operations)
- Experience welding stainless steel using TIG and ARC
- Able to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and controls
- 2-5 years' industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry
- Service, clean and perform preventative maintenance and overhaul on all production equipment (spiral ovens, freezers, formers, cartoners, tray pack machines, bread, and batter equipment)
- Continually improve equipment function via design improvements
- Problem-solving skills and good communication skills
- Knowledge of appropriate health and safety and environmental regulations
- Adherence to Food Safety Protocols
- Must have Ontario Millwright License
Wages and Benefits
- Wages: $44.66/hour, plus afternoon shift premium of $4.00/hour, for a total wage of $48.66/hour
- Comprehensive benefits after three-month probation
