Evodia Limited is seeking an SC cleared Engineer to join our client's Specialist Vehicles and Uncrewed Land Systems (SVULS) Team based in Bristol as a Safety Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals with some experience of providing technical advice and delivery of successful engineering outcomes and a background in military vehicles or uncrewed land systems, looking to contribute to vital defence projects in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Role Overview

As a Safety Engineer within the SVULS team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of acquisition safety policies and solutions. Your expertise will guide through-life management of safety risk across projects, ensuring the safety, security, and interoperability of advanced systems for Front Line Commands.

Location & Working Arrangements

Based in Bristol with flexibility for hybrid working (2-3 days onsite per week). Start date: ASAP, with contract until 30 June 2026, potential to extend. Day Rate: Up to £420 per day (inside IR35). Security Clearance: Minimum SC clearance required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and review safety requirements and documentation for sub-systems, considering in-service support and costs.
  • Collate and evaluate technical safety data to support project maturity and success.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, policies, and standards, particularly in regulated environments.
  • Contribute to technical risk management activities and safety case development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish and maintain safety artefacts.
  • Support testing, verification, validation, and safety evaluation activities.
  • Assist in through-life safety decisions, modifications, and disposal activities.
  • Draft technical recommendations aligned with safety disciplines.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 3 (A-Level or equivalent and above).
  • Experience providing technical advice and securing successful engineering outcomes.
  • Working towards Professional Registration such as EngTech or RSciTech is desirable.
  • Prior experience with military vehicles or uncrewed land systems is advantageous but not essential.
