Posting Start Date: 10/29/26
The quality of renewable energy infrastructure depends on every stage of construction, from initial installation through to final inspection and handover. Delivering projects to the required technical standards takes consistent quality control, sound engineering judgement and close coordination on site.
At SUNOTEC, we deliver large-scale renewable energy infrastructure across Europe, with more than 680 projects completed and over 15 GW of installed capacity. Our expertise covers solar PV, battery energy storage, grid infrastructure and lifecycle services.
As our project portfolio in the UK continues to grow, we're looking for a Site QA/QC Engineer to support the quality and successful delivery of our renewable energy construction projects.
Why this role matters:
Quality assurance is essential to delivering renewable energy projects that meet technical specifications, contractual requirements and client expectations.
As a Site QA/QC Engineer, you'll take responsibility for implementing and monitoring quality standards throughout construction. From reviewing technical documentation and carrying out site inspections to identifying non-conformances and ensuring corrective actions are completed, your work will directly influence installation quality and project delivery.
Working closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors, you'll help prevent defects, maintain compliance with applicable UK regulations and ensure completed works meet the requirements for inspection and handover.
Where you'll make an impact:
- Take ownership of implementing project quality requirements, ensuring the Quality Management System (QMS) is consistently applied across EPC construction activities;
- Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, contractual requirements, applicable British Standards and UK construction regulations;
- Oversee site inspections and testing activities, ensuring all works are checked against approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project quality requirements;
- Identify, document and manage non-conformances, working with site teams and subcontractors to implement corrective and preventive actions and minimize rework;
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, audit findings and supporting documentation required throughout construction and final handover;
- Work closely with project managers, site managers and subcontractors to address quality concerns and maintain consistent workmanship standards;
- Monitor quality performance through regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings, risks and improvement actions to project management;
- Support continuous improvement by providing quality guidance to site teams and coordinating with third-party inspectors and relevant authorities where required.
What will help you succeed:
- A bachelor’s degree or NVQ Level 4+ qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline;
- At least 2 years of QA/QC experience in EPC construction projects, ideally within renewable energy, solar PV or other large-scale infrastructure developments;
- Good understanding of construction processes, materials, quality management systems and applicable UK construction standards;
- Practical experience with site inspections, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation and non-conformance management;
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction documentation to identify potential quality issues;
- A practical, solution-oriented approach to resolving site quality concerns and ensuring corrective actions are completed;
- Confidence in working with engineers, site managers, subcontractors and external inspectors to maintain agreed quality standards;
- Strong organizational skills, attention to technical detail and the ability to manage priorities against construction deadlines;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction project management software;
- A proactive and accountable approach, with the flexibility to respond to changing site and project requirements.
Why you'll enjoy working here:
At SUNOTEC, you'll contribute to the construction of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure across the UK, where the quality of your work has a direct impact on project performance and long‑term asset reliability.
You'll work alongside experienced engineering, construction and project management professionals, with the autonomy to identify quality concerns, recommend solutions and influence how work is delivered on site.
Our growing project portfolio will give you exposure to technically demanding EPC construction activities and opportunities to develop your expertise in renewable energy infrastructure.
You’ll also benefit from:
- A remuneration package that reflects your experience and the responsibilities of the role;
- The opportunity to contribute to major renewable energy construction projects across the UK;
- Close collaboration with international engineering and construction teams;
- Access to an internal learning platform, structured onboarding and on‑the‑job training;
- Opportunities to broaden your technical expertise and take on additional responsibilities as our UK operations grow.
